ONE LAPTOP PER CHILD. Thats the mission. And its a big one that I truly support.
Access to information should be available to everyone, especially children. In many countries, technology does not exist to access the internet, use computers or read books online. Without this great asset they are missing out on a world of information, especially the kids in school. Whilst charity companies are trying hard to ensure clean water, food supplies and electricity, we also need to include information and education at the same time, not afterwards. Thats where OLPC comes into the picture. Check out the Great Work by OLPC, bringing access of information closer to children all over the world. I believe they have a great philosophy and goals, as well as well designed hardware and future plans. There is heaps more information on their website, and ways to donate money or even a laptop.
